OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Women's Basketball fell to CSU Bakersfield, 82-73, at home on Thursday night.
The Mavericks (1-5) came out swinging against the Roadrunners (1-4) and established a dominant lead in the first quarter. At the end of the first, Omaha was up 24-16. But CSUB outscored the Mavs in the second and third periods to take the lead. Both teams scored 19 points in the fourth to end the game.
Four Mavericks scored points in double digits. Junior
Cora Olsen (Omaha, Neb.) led the way with 23 points shooting 46.70 percent from the field and making a pair of 3-pointers. Graduate student
Sarai Estupiñan (Cedar Park, Texas) tallied 19 while junior
Ali Stephens (Fort Wayne, Ind.) had 10 and freshman
Regan Juenemann (Crosby, Minn.) hit a season high of 10.
Freshman
Avril Smith (Omaha, Neb.) added 13 rebounds to her season total to bring her to 66 in just six games. The freshman remains atop the league standings in total rebounds and rebounds per game.
