DES MOINES, Iowa – Omaha Women's Tennis wrapped up the fall season at the Drake Invite over the weekend.
Sophomores
Nina Wiese (Flushing, N.Y.) and
Katelynn Kock (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) finished the fall season with a perfect 9-0 record in doubles. The pair started the invite with a 6-2 win over Iowa State's Valeska San Martin Ramirez and Gabriella Kellner before defeating Drake's Elizabete Kavinska and Shiori Takeda by the same margin. On the last day, Wiese and Kock defeated a Summit League foe when they faced North Dakota's Jule Schulte and Ethel Li and won 6-1.
Freshman
Corinne Barber (Lincoln, Neb.) earned her first doubles win as a Mav on day one with partner freshman
Grace Greenwald (Omaha, Neb.). The pair defeated North Dakota's Alva Norberg and Alyssa Giupponi, 6-4.
A win streak for the record books came to an end for Wiese. After 18 straight wins in singles, Wiese fell to Iowa State's Valeska San Martin on day one, but not without a fight. The Cyclone took the first set 7-6 (6), but Wiese took the second 6-2 before falling in the third, 10-7.
Wiese restarted her win streak with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Drake's Maja Dodik on day two and a 6-1, 6-3 win over Kellner on day three.

"Great weekend to finish the fall," head coach
Adam Summitt said. "We haven't competed in a month and this was nice to get in. We wanted to focus on just being competitive and present. For the majority of the tournament, I felt we were, though there were a few missteps on day two. I thought we played some great doubles and had some new pairings. Katelynn [Kock] and Nina [Wiese] continue their dominance by going 9-0 this fall. Proud of them for achieving that and continuing to get better."
