Cowan named National College Hockey Conference Rookie of the Week

OMAHA, Neb. – (RV) Omaha Hockey freshman goaltender Dawson Cowan (Warren, Manitoba, Canada) has been named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Rookie of the Week after posting 32 saves in the Mavericks' first shutout of the 2025-26 season at AMSOIL Arena on Saturday, Nov. 15, against then-No. 3 Minnesota Duluth.

Cowan, making just his second appearance with (RV) Omaha, stopped 17 shots in the second period and finished with a 1.000 save percentage in the 2-0 win.

His standout effort secured the Mavericks' fifth ranked win of the season and came during their 10th consecutive ranked matchup.

Through two career games, Cowan has totaled 68 saves with a .944 save percentage and a 2.02 goals-against average. The award marks his first as a Maverick.
