ST. PAUL, Minn. – Omaha Women's Soccer (5-5-4, 2-1-1 Summit) rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat St. Thomas 3-2 Sunday at South Field in St. Paul, Minn.
17 minutes in, Izzy McEwan put the Tommies on top with a strike to the lower right corner. Just four minutes later, Tatum Trettel extended the lead to 2-0.
The Mavericks had a chance to respond in the 25th minute when sophomore forward
Charley Kort stepped up for a penalty kick, but St. Thomas goalkeeper Olivia Rowe made the stop.
Graduate forward
Payten Ivins (West Haven, Utah) converted Omaha's second penalty attempt in the 42nd minute, her fourth goal of the year, to cut the deficit to one.
Following a 40-minute weather delay, senior forward
Kayla Hassler (Lincoln, Neb.) leveled the match in the 44th minute, pressuring Rowe and sliding the ball home for her second goal of the season.

Lauren Schmidt (La Vista, Neb.) completed the comeback in the 85th minute, burying the game-winner into the high center of the net off a brilliant pass from freshman forward

The Mavericks tallied 17 shots, including eight on-goal, while the Golden Eagles recorded 12 shots with four on-target. Omaha also held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Omaha returns to action to take on South Dakota State in Brookings, S.D. on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. CT live on the Summit League Network.
