The Omaha Mavericks double-up on Alaska forwards as they announce the signing of former Nanooks two-time captain, Harrison Israels.
Lighting the lamp 20 times last season, Israels was Alaska's leading goal scorer. Playing in 33 of the 34 Fairbanks contests, he was tied for second on the team in points with 27.
"I chose Omaha because of the incredible opportunity it provides myself next season. The program has an amazing history of success as well as being able to move players to the next level," Israels said. "The entire organization is first class and getting the chance to play in the NCHC against the best competition is very exciting. I'm looking forward to helping bring a championship to Omaha!"
Playing in 96 games, the Mississauga, Ontario native has improved his point total every season of his collegiate career. Israels has totaled 33 goals and 21 helpers for 54 points.
A force on the power play, Israels scored eight of his 20 goals on the man advantage last season. He recorded four two-goal games on the campaign and netted a hat trick against LIU on January 26. Israels logged six multi-point games last year. He rode an eight-game point streak from 11/4/23-12/15/23 scoring six goals and four assists. The centerman closed out the season on a five-game point streak where he produced four goals and added one assist.
