Mavericks Ready to Host North Dakota State for Think Pink Game

The Omaha Mavericks remain on their home court in Baxter to host the North Dakota State Bison on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. The game against the Bison will be the Think Pink game, honoring those who battle breast cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.

    • The Mavericks host the Bison with a 5-18 overall record, having gone 4-8 at home and 1-9 in conference play. 
    • Omaha last played the Fighting Hawks on Thursday, Feb. 8 where they fell in a close 83-81 contest.  Despite pulling ahead and leading in the fourth, the Mavericks fell short in the end. 
    • Omaha's points and rebounds were led by Morgann Gardner with 18 and 7 respectively. From the field, Gardner went 6-of-10 and went a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line. Grace Cave led in assists with eight and Kennedi Grant led with three steals. Also going a perfect 3-of-3 from the line was Aaliyah Stanley who had 14 total points.     • The Mavericks average 17.91 free throws per game, moving them back to the second-ranked team in the nation. Omaha broke into the top 100 and now sits at 98th nationally for their free throw percentage of .733.
    • The depth of the Omaha roster continues to show as they average 26.2 bench points per game, which puts them in the top 25 nationally. 
    • Omaha's scoring offense moves up to 52nd in the nation with an average of 74.4 points per game. From the arc, the Mavericks are averaging a .353 shot percentage to rank them 42nd. 
    • Cave has gone 53-of-66 on the free throw line this season for a .791 shot percent, ranking her 150th among all D1 players. 
    • Stanley continues to lead the Mavericks in points with 283, averaging 12.3 per game.

Scouting the North Dakota State Bison
• NDSU enters the week after picking up a 101-85 win over North Dakota on Saturday to improve to
12-9 (6-2 Summit) on the season. The Bison currently sit in second place in the Summit League
standings behind South Dakota State (17-5, 9-0 Summit).
• In Summit League play, Elle Evans leads the conference in scoring (21.5), three-point field goal
percentage (.565), three-point field goals per game (3.3) and free throw percentage (.994).
• Elle Evans has tallied double digits in scoring in each of the last eight games, including five
20-point performances.
• Heaven Hamling has totaled 245 three-pointers over four seasons and moved into second place
on the all-time NDSU list. She's 34 triples away from passing Taylor Thunstedt (2014-18) for the
top spot in NDSU history with 279.
• Heaven Hamling is the leading scorer in the NDSU Division I era and ranks seventh on the all-time
Bison scoring list with 1,526 points.
• NDSU posted its most wins in a single-season since 2004-05 with an 18-12 (12-6 Summit) overall
record and advanced to the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) for the first time in
program history last season.
• NDSU enters the season picked second in the Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll, which is
the highest ranking since joining the conference in 2007-08.
• Heaven Hamling and Elle Evans were also both selected to the Preseason All-Summit League
First Team making NDSU the only team in the conference to have multiple first team selections.

All-Time Against North Dakota State
This will be the 74th all-time meeting between Omaha and NDSU dating back to 1980 with the Bison
leading the series, 52-21. Omaha is 2-8 against NDSU in the last 10 matchups and most recently 
fell to the Bison earlier this season, 87-69, on Jan. 13.
