MAVERICKS--UTAH STATE HISTORY
Omaha and Utah State have not met in the Mavericks DI Era. Their only meeting came 1/7/82 at Utah State when the Aggies claimed an 89-79 OT win over the DII Mavericks.
SCOUTING UTAH STATE
Picked to finish 11th in the Mountain West Conference, the Aggies are led by first-year head coach Wesley Brooks. He has worked as an assistant at both Ohio State University and the University of Michigan. Utah State returns two full-time starters from last year in senior guards Cheyenne Stubbs and Ivory Finley, as well as two part-time starters from a year ago in Samiana Sugturaga and Allyzee Verdan. Stubbs is a prolific scorer for the Aggies, twice topping 30 points last season, averaging 16.1 ppg as a junior. This year she is scoring 15.8 ppg, followed by one other in double-digits, Jamisyn Heaton (11.0 ppg).
Utah State loves the three. Their 9.0 made treys per game lead the Mountain West Conference, as do their 170 attempts. They are only hitting on 27% of those tries, led by Stubbs (12-34, 35%).
The Aggies will not play at home until December 18 against UC-Riverside, following a stretch of eight straight road games.
