The Omaha Mavericks Track & Field team is inching closer to the Summit League Indoor Championships on February 24th and 25th. Before they can look at that, their focus is set on this weekend's two-day SDSU Indoor Classic meet.
"While we always focus on the athletic side of things, this meet will dive heavily into the mental side as well due to its size," Mavericks head coach
Chris Richardson said. "With over 1500 athletes competing, out athletes will need to focus on what they need to do and not let outside factors distract them. They might not get as many warm up throws, jumps or block starts as they're used to and they need to be ready for that. Focus on what you can control, and let others worry about the everything else."
The Mavericks will have a busy two days competing in 12 events over the course of the weekend. Omaha will be competing in the 3000m and 5000m runs on Friday. On Saturday, the Mavericks will compete in the Shot Put, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Weight Throw, 60m Hurdles, 60m Dash, Mile Run, 400m Dash, 800m Run and the 200m Dash.
