Tipping Off
The Mavericks will have one last chance to secure the No. 6 seed and a first-round bye in the Summit League Championships next week when they host Denver this Saturday at 12:15 p.m. on Senior Day.

The game can be heard on 1180 The Zone with Jon Schriner on the call. Links to live stats, audio and video are available on OMavs.com.

Quick Hits
  • The Mavericks come into their final home game and the final game of the regular season just one game behind Denver for the No. 6 seed at 12-16 overall and 7-10 in the Summit League. Having won the prior meeting against the Pioneers this season, Omaha will have the tiebreaker over Denver in the standings, meaning they would take the No. 6 seed with a win.
  • Omaha's chances of securing a first-round bye prior today were dashed last week with a 41-61 loss to South Dakota on Thursday and a 54-87 loss to first-place South Dakota State on Saturday.
  • Sam Mitchell and Kennedi Grant led Omaha against SDSU with 10 points each. Mitchell passed 100 points on the season and 200 points in her career in the process, while Grant ended her day with 265 points this year, putting her just 14 points away from tripling her total from last season.
  • Elena Pilakouta just missed getting her sixth double-double of the season last week with nine points and nine rebounds at SDSU. Still, she remains firmly in the lead in FG% in the Summit at 62.2%, as well as slotting into the top 10 in scoring (370 points/13.2 PPG) and rebounding (195 rebounds/7.0 RPG).
  • Grace Cave had a steal and two assists last Saturday to give her 46 steals and 79 assists, both ranking in the top 10 in the league.
  • Aaliyah Stanley added 10 more points last week to increase her season total to 316 (11.3 PPG), keeping her in the top 20 in the league in scoring.
  • The Mavericks will honor four players on Senior Day after the game. Pilakouta and Akili Felici will each be playing in their final home game at Baxter Arena, after five years and four years with the team, respectively. Meanwhile, Stanley and Mitchell are both set to return next season.
Scouting the Pioneers
At 12-16 overall and 8-9 in the Summit League, the Pioneers managed to leapfrog Omaha in the standings last week and move into sixth place after narrowly edging out South Dakota 79-74 on Saturday. In their first game vs. Omaha this year, Denver was defeated at home 75-64 as the Mavericks greatly outshot them 53.7% (29-for-54) to 39.6% (21-for-53).

Freshman guard Emma Smith is Denver's leading scorer with 352 points (13.0 PPG), good for 10th in the league. Her .341 3-PT FG% and 32 steals also pace the Pioneers. Against Omaha this year, Smith scored eight points and made two three-pointers.

Senior forward Makayla Minett leads the entire league with 70 blocks, twice as many as second place on the leaderboard. Her 257 total rebounds (9.2 RPG) are also the most in the Summit League. Minett was Denver's leading scorer vs. Omaha last time out, totaling 13 points along with seven rebounds and one block.

Graduate student Ally Haar is second on the team with 279 points (10.0 PPG), as well as placing fourth in the league in assists with 117. She had eight assists against the Mavericks back in January.

Head Coach Doshia Woods is in her third season leading the Pioneers and owns a 29-51 record. Before coming to Denver, she was a member of the Tulane coaching staff for 10 seasons, helping the Green Wave to seven consecutive postseason appearances, as well as an appearance in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

All-Time Against Denver
The Mavericks and Pioneers are locked in a dead heat in the all-time series at 11 wins apiece. Omaha won their first meeting this season thanks in large part to a 52.6% 3-PT FG%, with Felici going 2-for-2 on three-pointers. Omaha's bench also did a lot of heavy lifting, scoring 36 points, including six each from Felici and Morgann Gardner.
