The Basics
Omaha looks for a series sweep at North Dakota Saturday afternoon. The win would help snap an eight-game skid. The Mavericks beat the Fighting Hawks by six earlier this season at Baxter Arena. North Dakota has won its last two games and looks to extend it to three straight. The Mavericks and Fighting Hawks tipoff at 1 p.m. in Grand Forks.

• The week started with a loss for Omaha at North Dakota State.
Frankie Fidler led the Mavericks with 14 points, while
Jaeden Marshall and
Tony Osburn scored 12 each off the bench.

• The Mavericks nearly upset the Golden Eagles and their perfect home record last week. Omaha held the lead with 3:36 left in the game before ORU used a 10-0 run to capture the win.
• Despite the loss, Fidler and
Marquel Sutton put on top-notch performances for the Mavericks. Fidler recorded his third double-double of the year with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Sutton added 17 points.
• Against the Golden Eagles,
Luke Jungers made his first career start. He was one of three freshmen in the starting line-up.
• Thursday's game at Kansas City came down to the final possession before Omaha fell by three.
• Fidler and
Tony Osburn scored 12 points each and were the lone Mavericks in double-figures. Fidler nearly had a double-double with seven rebounds.
• As a team, Omaha is shooting 77 percent from the free throw line. The Mavericks continue to rank in the NCAA's top-15 coming in at no. 12 this week.
• Leading the Mavericks at the line is Fidler. He's shooting 87.7 percent ranking 28th in the country.
• Fidler also leads Omaha's offense scoring 13.7 ppg. He is 11th overall in the league. Fidler is also 11th in the Summit with 5.9 rpg.
• Jungers leads Omaha with 38 made three-pointers this season. He is shooting over 40 percent from deep.
• Osburn is the only other Maverick with at least 20 makes from three-point range. He sits at 21 for the season.
• Head coach
Chris Crutchfield has a 17-25 overall record. It marks his second season as a head coach and first with the Mavericks.
Scouting the North Dakota Fighting Hawks
The Fighting Hawks are 9-17 overall and 3-10 in league play. North Dakota has won it last two league games forcing the Mavericks at the bottom of the standings. Earlier this week, UND handed Denver an 86-63 loss. The Fighting Hawks also took a win from the Coyotes in Vermillion, 86-72. Despite their record, the Fighting Hawks face only a -2.4 scoring margin. They're averaging 70.7 ppg.
BJ Omot leads the UND offense averaging 11.8 ppg. He's shooting .401 on the year. Omot has scored double-figures in the last three games. He dropped a season-high 20 points vs. Oral Roberts last month. Matt Norman joins Omot in double-digits. He averages 11.1 ppg and is shooting over 46 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from three-point range.
Paul Sather is in his fourth season at the helm. With the Fighting Hawks he has a 39-77 overall record. This marks his 18th year as a head coach.
All-Time Against North Dakota
UND leads the all-time series 47-43. Omaha earned another win earlier this season at Baxter. The Mavericks downed the Fighting Hawks, 69-63. Fidler and Sutton had near double-doubles. Fidler posted 17 points and eight boards, while Sutton added 16 points and nine rebounds.
