OMAHA, Neb. (Sept. 8, 2025) - Omaha men's basketball's 2025-26 schedule was revealed Monday with the reigning Summit League regular-season and tournament champions taking part in 30 regular-season contests beginning on Monday, Nov. 3 in Sioux Falls, S.D. versus Murray State as part of the Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon.
Led by fourth-year head coach
Chris Crutchfield, this year's Maverick men's basketball schedule features 15 true road contests, 13 home games at Baxter Arena and two neutral site matchups.
After the season lid-lifter against the Racers, Omaha hits the road for back-to-back away matchups at Abeline Christian (Nov. 6) and fellow 2025 NCAA tournament participant Colorado State (Nov. 9). The Mavericks' 2025-26 home opener comes on Saturday, Nov. 15 when Southern Utah makes the trip to the River City. Crutchfield's team also welcomes Concordia (Neb.) on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Prior to Thanksgiving, Omaha travels for a trio of games, beginning at LSU on Nov. 21, as Omaha faces reigning Summit League Player of the Year
Marquel Sutton and the Tigers for the first time in program history. After the stop in Baton Rouge, La., Omaha heads to the 305 for a multiple-team event (MTE) hosted by FIU in Miami as Omaha battles James Madison (Nov. 25) and the host Panthers (Nov. 26).
Omaha returns home to close out the first month of the season with Mid-American Christian coming to Baxter Arena on Nov. 29. The previously announced Big Sky-Summit League Challenge begins Dec. 3 when Northern Colorado visits Omaha and concludes on Dec. 6 when the Mavs head to Portland State.
The final home game of the non-conference slate comes on Dec. 9 when Doane visits Baxter Arena. Omaha hits the road for the final two non-conference tilts, first at Lamar on Dec. 20, followed by Omaha's second-ever trip to Oregon on Dec. 28, matching Crutchfield up with his former institution.
Omaha's non-conference schedule boasts two 2025 March Madness teams (Colorado State and Oregon) and six squads ranked in the top 175 of last season's final NET ranking.
Summit League play begins on Jan. 1 in Brookings, S.D. when Omaha takes on South Dakota State. The Summit League conference slate is played in a double round-robin format with Omaha facing each of the league's eight other members once at home and once away.
