OMAHA, Neb. (Aug. 17, 2025) - The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and Omaha Athletics mourn the tragic loss of men's basketball student-athlete Deng Mayar. He was 22 years old.

Mayar joined the Mavericks this past offseason after two years at fellow Summit League institution North Dakota. Mayar made 42 appearances and 15 starts for the Fighting Hawks over two seasons.
