Mavericks to Play Peru State in Sapp Fieldhouse

The Omaha Mavericks will match up against Peru State College on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Sapp Fieldhouse.

    • The Mavericks will play at Sapp with a 2-6 overall record and at home they have gone 2-3.
    • Omaha comes off a close 78-75 loss to Western Illinois. 
    Despite a strong first half and a 12-point lead at the half, the Leathernecks pulled ahead. Kennedi Grant led the team with 19 points. Also in double digits tonight were Grace Cave (14), Aaliyah Stanley (13), and Polina Nikulochkina (10). Cave paced with six assists and P. Nikulochkina had a team-high three steals. P. Nikulochkina and Stanley had perfect nights on the free throw line going 4-of-4 and 2-of-2, respectively.

    • As the Mavericks show their depth on the roster, they are ranked 25th in the nation and first in the Summit for bench points (29.6).

    • Stanley has only missed one free throw on the season, going 22-of-23 on the line. She now sits among the top 10, claiming the seventh spot in the national for free throw percentage (95.7). Additionally, Stanley moves up to third nationally for her three-point percentage (57.1).
