Mavericks Continue on the Road at TCU

The Omaha Mavericks continue their Texas road trip with a matchup against TCU on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

Quick Hits
    • The Mavericks head to Fort Worth with a 4-6 overall record.
    • Omaha just picked up their first road win after defeating Texas Southern 68-63 on Monday night. The Mavericks were led by Kennedi Grant's 20-point, 10-rebound double-double. Grant also led with three steals and went 7-of-14 on field goals and 6-of-7 on the free throw line. Grace Cave led with six assists and also put up double-digits with 14 points. Cave scored 5-of-9 field goals and 2-of-3 three-pointers. 
    The Mavericks paced field goals with 43.4% (23-of-53) compared to TSU's 36.9% (24-of-65).  Texas Southern just out-shot Omaha on three-pointers 38.5% (10-of-26) to 36.4% (4-of-11). The Mavericks had a solid night on the free throw line leading 90% (18-of-20) to 62.5% (5-of-8). 
    • During the Peru State game, the last point was a free throw by Aaliyah Stanley marking her 1000th career point. 
    • Six different Mavericks had season or career-highs against Peru State.
    • Omaha has moved up and now sits among the top five in the nation for free throws made per game, averaging 18.20. 
    • The Mavericks continue to show their depth on the roster ranking 18th nationally for bench points (31.3).
    • With an average of 78.4 points per game, the Mavericks rank 44th nationally and second in the league for scoring offense. 
    • Stanley has gone 31-of-34 on the line this season. With a .912 free throw percentage, she ranks 16th nationally and second in the league. 
    • Stanley paces the team with 118 points, averaging 11.8 per game. She holds a .473 field goal percentage, making 35-of-74. Stanley paces the team with a .548 three-point percentage, making 17-of-31. 
    • Kennedi Grant continues to the Mavericks in assists. With 37 in the books, she averages 3.7 a game. Grant is also the team leader in steals with 16 on the season. 
    
Scouting the TCU Horned Frogs
    • TCU hosts Omaha having an undefeated record on the season, going 11-0. 
    • TCU played Lamar University at home where they defeated them 68-51. TCU had four players score in double figures for the second consecutive game and fourth time this season. Una Jovanovic contributed 13 points of her own while Agnes Emma-Nnopu tallied 11 – all of which came in the second half.
    • The Horned Frogs average 78.5 points per game, while holding opponents to 53.7, for a 24.8-point margin. Their field goal defense ranks them seventh in the nation. Also on the defensive side of the game, their 6.6 blocks per game rank 5th in the nation. 
    • As a well-rounded team, TCU ranks second nationally in both three-pointers per game and three-point defense. 
    • TCU holds a .455 field goal percentage, .397 three-point percent, and .734 free throw percentage. 
    • With a margin of 7.2, the Horned Frogs out-rebound their opponents 464-385. 
    •  They average 11.4 turnovers per game and have a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio. 
    • Leading the nation in three-pointers (57) and three-pointers per game (5.18) is Madison Conner. Connor's 22.9 points per game ranks her ninth nationally and first in the Big 12. 
    • Sedona Prince's 3.40 blocks per game puts her in the fourth spot nationally.
