The Omaha Mavericks continue the season-opening home stand this Wednesday at Baxter Arena for a 7 p.m. tip-off. The Mavericks look to rebound and get their first win of the season after their loss against the Illinois State Redbirds.

• Though a tough loss to open the season, there was a notable performance by freshman
Cora Olsen. The Omaha native had quite the collegiate debut as she led the Mavericks in points (10), rebounds (5), offensive rebounds (3), and field goals made (4). The freshman also had the second-highest playing time on the team with 22 minutes recorded.
• Keitges secured 10 points and four field goals (4-of-8) and two three-pointers (2-of-5).
Alison Stephens,
Ana Nikulochkina, and
Aaliyah Stanley all picked up one 3-point FG, while Stanley also logged one block and
Grace Cave led with two assists.
• All three Maverick freshman not only played in tonight's game but they would all go on to record their first career points.
• The Mavericks were tabbed sixth in the Summit League Preseason rankings after a 15-17 campaign in 2022-23. The team owned an 8-10 mark in conference play, including wins against North Dakota State, North Dakota, and Denver, and was 5-10 on the road.

Carrie Banks returns for her fourth season at the helm. She owns a 29-49 record with the Mavericks and led them to a Summit League championship berth in her first season after a couple of historic upsets over no. 1 seeded South Dakota State and no. 5 Western Illinois in the first two rounds of the tournament. • Four newcomers join the Mavericks this year:

• Leading the way for Omaha is
Grace Cave who returns for her third season. She leads all returners with 494 career points, 178 free throws, 49 3-point field goals, 85 free throws, 222 total rebounds, 187 defensive rebounds, 134 assists, 78 steals, 15 blocks, 44 games started, and 1,495 minutes played.
• Senior transfer,
Aaliyah Stanley made an immediate impact last season with 31 games played and started. In her first season at Omaha, Stanley picked up 362 points, 56 assists, 35 steals, 123 rebounds, while sinking 43 from behind the arc.
• Following Monday's game, the Mavericks will host the College of Saint Mary's on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
Scouting the Flames
• The College of Saint Mary's Flames are coming off an 84-46 loss at Peru State.
• Tia Murray leads the Flames in points (58), an average of 19.3 points per game, and 20 rebounds.
• College of Saint Mary finished 11th in the Great Plains Athletic Conference last year with a conference record of 3-19 and an overall mark of 6-22. Key athletes gone from that team include Clare Lewandowski, Bailey White, Maddie Turner, Kenzi Hoit, Allison Schubert and Allisa Schubert.
