The 2022-23 Omaha Mavericks are getting a familiar and veteran face back for the upcoming campaign as forward
Tyler Weiss rejoins the Mavericks for his fifth year.
Weiss was the Mavericks second leading scorer last season with 33 points. He tallied eight goals and 25 helpers in 36 games for Omaha. His 25 assists were tied for the team lead with former Maverick blueliner,
Brandon Scanlin. Weiss tied a career best with a six-game point streak that was opened up with a three-assist night against Alaska Fairbanks. It would be the second time in his career he's notched three assists in one game.
The Raleigh, N.C. native has registered 89 points in four years and has increased his point total from the previous year, every season he's been on the team. Weiss' return helps bolster a younger Mavericks team that introduces10 freshman this season.
"We're excited to have Tyler back," Mavericks head coach
Mike Gabinet said. "He's a huge part of our program on and off the ice. To have someone of his Caliber out there for us every night, is a great addition."
Weiss and the Mavericks get the 2022-23 campaign underway with a Maverick vs. Maverick exhibition against Minnesota State on Saturday, October 1 at 6:07 p.m.
