Mike Gabinet announced the 2022-23 non-conference slate Monday morning. The NCHC schedule was released back in April.
The Mavericks will play 35 games, including one exhibition, 10 non-conference and 24 league games.
The 2022-23 campaign features five 2021-22 NCAA Tournament participants, including the defending national champions. Fans can catch the Mavericks at Baxter Arena 19 times this year.
Omaha opens regular season action with a home series vs. Niagara on October 7-8. The Mavericks then take the next series on the road to Lake Superior State (Oct. 15-16). They return home for another pair of games vs. Alaska Fairbanks on Oct. 21 and 23 before closing the month's action at LIU on the 28-29.
NCHC action opens at Baxter arena on Nov. 4-5 with league rival North Dakota. The Fighting Hawks finished last season 24-14-1 overall and capped their run in the NCAA first round.
The Mavericks continue action with their next three series at NCAA Tournament opponents. They will face-off at Minnesota Duluth (Nov. 11-12), take on 2022 champs Denver (Nov. 25-26), and close the stretch with Western Michigan at home (Dec. 2-3).
Omaha will play at Colorado College on Dec. 9-10 before having two weeks off. The Mavericks will then ring in the New Year with St. Lawrence at Baxter on Dec. 30-31.
January's slate tips off with two home series. Minnesota Duluth will visit first (Jan. 13-14) with Miami the following week. The Mavericks close the month at Western Michigan (Jan. 27-28).
After a first week bye, Omaha will host Colorado College to start February at home. The Mavericks will head to Miami on Feb. 17-18 and return to Baxter to take on NCAA Tournament opponent in St. Cloud State on Feb. 24-25.
One final regular season series will be played at North Dakota on March 4-5. NCHC postseason action will begin March 10-12 with the quarterfinals.
