Dec 7, 2022

This Week
The Omaha Mavericks head to Colorado Springs for two of their four regular season meetings with the Tigers.

Last Time Out
The Mavericks and Tigers split the regular season series last year, each winning two games. The outcome of both series during the regular season were a pair of splits first in Omaha and then in Colorado Springs.

All-Time vs. Colorado College
The Mavericks and Tigers are set to meet for the 44th and 45th times this weekend. Omaha leads the all-time series 26-12-5. When the game is played in Colorado Springs, the Mavericks have a 12-7-1 record over the Tigers.

Jack Attack
Senior forward Jack Randl currently leads the NCAA in goals with 14.  Randl has recorded a goal in 9 of the Mavericks 16 games. He has found the back of the net at least once in every series this season except against UMD. He is the first player in program history to score 8 goals in the first 6 games of a season. The previous record of 7 was held by Austin Ortega (15-16) and Brandon Scero (06-07).

Jack Attack II
Randl is the 19th player in Omaha Hockey history to score a goal in four consecutive games. It's the 27th time it has happened in program history. Randl is the third player in school history to score a goal in the first four games of the season. The only other players to score goals in the first four games of the season are Stanley Cup winner Jake Guentzel (2014-15) and Matt Ambroz (2010-11).

Consistency Is Key
Sophomore forward Ty Mueller has recorded points in 13 of the Mavericks 16 games and is currently 2nd on the team in points with 15. Mueller has recorded a point in 9 of the Mavericks last 10 games.

Mighty Miller
Junior forward Matt Miller had a four-game goal streak snapped last Friday night against Western Michigan. Miller becomes the 20th player in program history to score goals in four straight games. He joins Jack Randl as the only other Maverick to accomplish that feat this season.

Mighty Miller II
Since returning from missing three games due to injury, Miller has recorded points in five of the six games he's played played. His five game point streak was snapped in last Saturday's 3-1 win over WMU.

Among The Conference Leaders
Nolan Sullivan (.559), Jake Pivonka (.554) and Ty Mueller (.514) all sit 6th, 7th and 9th respectively in NCHC faceoff win%. Omaha ranks 2nd in the NCHC in faceoff winning percentage at .531 percent.

There's a First Time For Everything
The Mavericks had multiple firsts last weekend. Rookie's Jacob Guevin and Ray Fust scored their first career goals in Friday night's 7-6 victory against WMU. Cam Mitchell also found the scoresheet on Friday night for his first career point with the secondary assist on the Mavericks 4th goal of the game.

Road Warriors
