Mavericks Grab Four Points in Weekend Split with No. 20 Minnesota Duluth

Nov 12, 2022

Box Score The Omaha Mavericks leave Duluth with four points after falling 3-2 to No. 20 Minnesota Duluth tonight in overtime.

Matt Miller's late 3rd period goal with 90 seconds left in regulation helped send tonight's series finale to overtime. Omaha was able to hold the zone as Miller corralled a loose puck on the left side half wall, took it all the way in and slid the game tying goal 5-hole. Ty Mueller extended his point streak to six games after registering the primary helper and Jack Randl secured his team leading 15th point with the secondary assist.

Jake Pivonka got the scoring started for the Mavericks tonight at 6:07 of the 2nd period. Pivonka flew into the offensive and was able to squeeze a shot from the top of the left circle 5-hole on Matthew Thiessen.

Senior netminder Jake Kucharski had another big save night stopping 39 of the 42 shots he faced to bring his weekend total to 77 saves.

The Mavericks will be idle next week before heading to Denver to take on the Pioneers for their next game action.
