The Omaha Mavericks knock off No. 20 Minnesota Duluth 3-2 behind a pair of 3rd period power play goals to take game 1 of this two-game series.

Nolan Sullivan who got things started tonight for the Mavericks. Sullivan was able to get a stick on a
Nolan Krenzen shot from the point.
Jacob Slipec registered the secondary assist.
Omaha found themselves trailing 2-1 after 40 minutes of hockey. The Mavericks cashed in on two power play goals from
Ty Mueller and
Matt Miller. Mueller finished a tic-tac-toe play back door to equalize the game just 1:12 into the 3rd period.
Jacob Guevin and Jo Lemay were the tic and tac of the play. With 8:27 to play in regulation,
Matt Miller cleaned up a loose puck sitting in the crease.
Cameron Berg and
Jonny Tychonick had the helpers on the play.
Omaha went 50 percent (2-for-4) on the power play this evening. They improve to 3-3-1 when scoring a power play goal.
Senior netminder
Jake Kucharski had yet another stellar outing for Omaha tonight. The Erie, Pennsylvania native stopped 38 of the 40 shots he faced tonight.
