Quick Hits
• The Mavericks are coming off losses to South Dakota State and South Dakota. Three different players scored in double digits in the 68-45 loss to the Coyotes, Mariah Murdie and Grace Cave each scored 12, while Josie Filer chipped in 10.
• The Senior forward duo, Filer and Murdie, led the Mavericks on the boards against both South Dakota State and South Dakota. They both hauled in eight rebounds against the Jackrabbits and seven against the Coyotes. Murdie also blocked four shots against South Dakota, she's now blocked at least three shots in two of her last three games.
• Filer hauled in 10 rebounds against the Roos on Monday Jan. 10, she's recorded double-digit rebounding efforts in three of her six games this season and eclipsed 500 career rebounds against Kansas City.
• Murdie also reached 500 career rebounds against the Roos, she's currently sixth in The Summit League in rebounding and fifth in blocks.
• Murdie scored a career-high 25 points in the Mavericks 73-64 loss to Kansas City Monday night, it was the second straight game a Maverick set a 25 point career-high after Cave scored a career-high 25 points to lead the Mavericks in their 68-54 win over North Dakota State, Jan. 8.
• Cave played a career-high 40 minutes in the win over NDSU, she's played in at least 33 minutes in four of the Mavericks last five games.
• Omaha was tabbed eighth in the Summit League Preseason Poll. The Mavericks finished last season 7-13 overall with a 4-8 league finish. They earned the eighth seed in the Summit League Tournament last spring and advanced to the Championship game before falling to South Dakota.
Scouting the Denver Pioneers
• The Pioneers are coming off a 77-68 loss to Kansas City in Denver, Colorado. Theyre currently on a nine game losing streak with their last win coming on Dec. 10 in a 100-94 four overtime thriller over Butler. They are led by two-time Summit League player of the week, Uju Ezeudu, who is averaging 17 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
• Head coach Doshia Woods is in her second season in charge of the Pioneers. Woods is 12-29 in her time in charge, her first head coaching position.
All-Time Against Denver
Denver leads the all-time series against the Mavericks 10-9. Omaha won the last matchup between the teams 80-75 on Feb. 27, 2021 in Denver, Colorado. Elena Pilakouta led the Mavericks in that game with a career-high 24 points while shooting 10-of-12 from the floor. Mariah Murdie had 18 points and four rebounds off the bench for Omaha while Josie Filer added 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists
