The Omaha women's basketball team is set to take on Oral Roberts at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Baxter Arena. The game can be heard on 1180 The Zone with Jon Schriner on the call. Links to live stats, audio and video will be available on OMavs.com.


Quick Hits

• The Mavericks opened Summit League play Dec. 20 on the road against St. Thomas taking down the Tommies 61-55, in the two teams first ever matchup, followed by a 77-70 loss at Western Illinois on Dec. 22.

Elena Pilakouta led the way in both games with 18 points against the Tommies and 20 against the Leathernecks. She also hauled in a season-best 11 rebounds in Macomb, Illinois for her first double-double of the season and sixth of her Maverick career.

Katie Keitges set career-high point totals in back-to-back games, scoring 11 points against St. Thomas including three shots from beyond the arc and following it up with a 16 points against Western Illinois.

Alexis Pratt recorded a career-best 10 points against Western Illinois to go along with her career-high seven assists - the most a Maverick has recorded in a game this season.

• Seniors Josie Filer and Sophie Johnston made their season debut's against St. Thomas after missing the first nine games due to injury. Filer scored nine points and hauled in 10 rebounds against Western Illinois in 27 minutes of action.

• The Mavericks have controlled the paint in their last seven games outscoring their opponent down low in all seven games by an average margin of 10 points.

• Omaha was tabbed eighth in the Summit League Preseason Poll. The Mavericks finished last season 7-13 overall with a 4-8 league finish. They earned the eighth seed in the Summit League Tournament last spring and  advanced to the Championship game before falling to South Dakota.


Scouting the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles

• The Golden Eagles are coming off a 71-51 loss to South Dakota State making their record 5-8 on the season. They are led in scoring by freshman Tirzah Moore who is averaging 12.2 points-per-game to go along with her 5.7 rebounds-per-game.

• Head coach Misti Cussen is in her tenth season in charge of the Golden Eagles. Cussen is 135-145 in her time at the helm.


All-Time Against Oral Roberts

Oral Roberts leads the all-time series between the two teams 9-3. Both contests in the 2020-21 season were canceled to due to COVID protocols . The Golden Eagles won the last matchup between the two teams 84-57 on February 13, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
