BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Omaha wrapped up its Spring Break trip with a 7-0 loss to Florida Atlantic Wednesday afternoon.

FAU won two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.  Freshman Nathan Reekie and sophomore Alex Woodward stopped Arthur Stefani and Felipe Frias at No. 2, 7-5.  UNO fell 6-3 at No. 1 and 6-2 at No. 3.

The Owls continued their momentum into singles play sweeping all six matches.  Freshman Louis-Jonas Heizlsperger lost a split set match 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4) to Frias at No. 4.  Sophomore Matt Dunn dropped a split set decision to Anthony Schohn at No. 3, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.  Freshman Razvan Grigorescu fell to No. 100 Andrei Kougoucheff, 7-5, 6-4.

“FAU has a strong team that is suited to outdoor tennis,” said head coach Tyson Thomas.  “I am happy with the way we played today and with the teams' intensity. We will need to clean some things up before we start conference play.”

The loss puts the Mavericks at 6-9 (0-0 Summit League) overall, while to Owls improve to 12-4 (0-0 CUSA).

Omaha opens Summit League action next weekend, hosting Oral Roberts on Saturday, April 1.  First serve is set for Noon at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
