Men’s Tennis sets out to Marquette, Gustavus Adolphus

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Men's tennis is back on the road to face Marquette and Gustavus Adolphus to close out March. 

The Mavericks (8-9, 0-1 Summit League) are coming off a split weekend that came with a 4-3 win over Creighton, followed by a 5-2 loss at Oral Roberts.  

Graduate Liam Spiers (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) was named Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week after his 6-4, 6-4 win against Creighton and his 7-6 (4), 6-4 win at Oral Roberts. 

Spiers also won the doubles team of the week award along with freshman Anthony Scheglowski (Lakeville, Minn.). The pair clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win against Creighton and won 6-3 at ORU. 

The Mavs have a 6-1 record against Marquette (4-13, 1-1 Big East) and have won the last six meetings in a row. The last two were 7-0 sweeps.  

Omaha has never met Gustavus Adolphus (10-5, 4-0 MIAC) during the spring dual season. 

The Mavericks will face Marquette at 11 a.m. CT on Friday, March 27 and Gustavus Adolphus at 10 a.m. CT on Sunday, March 29. Live stats will be available for both matches and a live stream will be available for Sunday's match.
