LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Nebraska on Sunday afternoon at the Dillon Tennis Center. With the loss, Omaha falls to 2-8 (0-1 Summit League) this season. 

Nebraska took the doubles point early in the match to take a 1-0 lead heading into singles play. The No. 3 pair of senior Kenzie Hill and junior Hannah Hills fell to Mary Hanna and Elizabeth Gould, 6-1, to open the match. The Huskers claimed the doubles point when the pair of freshmen Rylee Tucker and Emily Behling lost to Katerina Matysova and Jeannie Lozowski, 6-3, at the No. 2 spot.

Nebraska swept the singles matches later in the evening to earn the 7-0 victory. Junior Michelle Lo fell to Claire Reifels, 7-6, 6-4, for the closest match of the day.

“This isn't the result we wanted today, but we did compete hard,” head coach Adam Summitt said. “I'm really proud of Lo for pushing Reifels at the No. 1 spot, but unfortunately we couldn't finish. I'm really looking forward to a good week of practice.”

Omaha returns to action on Saturday, March 4, facing Southern Utah at 5 p.m. in Grand Forks, N.D.
