OMAHA, Neb. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced its annual academic awards, with the Omaha women's tennis team designated an ITA All-Academic Team and eight players recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes for 2015-16.
The Mavericks compiled a 3.70 cumulative GPA in the 2015-16 academic year for ITA All-Academic Team recognition. ITA Scholar-Athlete award winners included Kyler Boyer, Hannah Hills, Maddie Holscher, Allison Johnson, Michelle Lo, Hylan Miller, Rachel Skolaski and Janelle Wilson.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the academic year, including the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 semesters. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1) be a varsity letterwinner, 2) have a GPA of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and 3) have been enrolled at her present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
