DENVER, Colo. – The Omaha women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches Saturday in Colorado, falling 7-0 to No. 40 Denver and 4-0 to Colorado State. The Mavericks are now 9-10 (0-2 Summit League) on the season.

Denver opened up the dual with a sweep in doubles. The No. 1 pair of junior Hylan Miller and sophomore Michelle Lo and the No. 3 team of juniors Allison Johnson and Kenzie Hill dropped their respective matches by identical scores of 6-2. At No. 2, the duo of senior Molly Matricardi and freshman Kylie Boyer fell 6-1.
The Mavericks were shut out in singles play as the Pioneers took the match by a 7-0 tally. At No. 1, Lo fell to Julia O'Loughlin, 6-0, 6-1. Miller lost a hard-fought match at No. 2 to Maureen Slattery, 6-3, 6-1, and Matricardi fell to Bianca Mok at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 4, Hill was upended by Evy Van Genechten, 6-0, 6-2, while Johnson fell to Charlotte Derbyshire at the No. 5 position, 6-1, 6-0. And at No. 6, freshman Hannah Hills fell to Gracia Mboko, 6-1, 6-1.
COLORADO STATE 4, OMAHA 0
In the day's second match, Colorado State took two out of three matches to secure the doubles point. At No. 1, Matricardi and Boyer recorded a 6-4 victory for Omaha. Miller and freshman Janelle Wilson lost in the No. 2 slot, 6-4, and the team of Hill and Johnson fell at No. 3 by a score of 6-2 to conclude doubles action.
The Rams then took three singles matches to grab the victory. Boyer fell at No. 2 by a score of 6-0, 6-2, and Hill (No. 3) and senior Maddie Holscher (No. 6) were defeated by identical scores of 6-1, 6-0 in their contests. With the match already decided, matches at the Nos. 1, 4 and 5 positions did not finish.
Omaha returns home for a midweek Summit League matchup with South Dakota on Tuesday, April 12 at 6 p.m. at Miracle Hill Golf and Tennis Center.
