Box Score MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The Omaha baseball team visited Kansas State for a non-conference matchup Tuesday night, falling 11-3 at Tointon Family Stadium. The Mavericks are now 14-11 (5-1 Summit League), while the Wildcats improve to 12-13 (0-3 Big 12).
Junior right-hander
Brett Sasse (1-3) took the loss for UNO, allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk with one strikeout in 2.2 innings of work. Logan Wiley (2-1) earned the win for K-State, tossing 5.0 shutout innings with three hits and a walk.
Freshman
Riley Herold finished 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and an RBI.
K-State's offense exploded for a season-high 17 hits, helped by three apiece from Clayton Dalrymple (3-for-4, two runs, one RBI), Steve Serratore (3-for-3, two runs, one RBI) and Jake Wodtke (3-for-3, one run, five RBI).
Kansas State claimed to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning via four straight singles. With one out, Tyler Moore singled to center and Serratore singled to left, followed by an RBI single to center by Danny Krause to plate Moore. Wodtke added another RBI single to center to drive in Serratore, which built the Wildcats a two-run advantage.
In the third, Dalrymple led off with a single to center and Josh Rolette drew a walk to put two runners on base. Consecutive RBI singles to left by Moore and Serratore then plated Dalrymple and Rolette, respectively. After freshman right-hander
Cal Hehnke came in to relieve Sasse, Wodtke put an RBI single in right field to drive in K-State's third run of the inning for a 5-0 lead.
Four hits then fueled a five-run spurt for the Wildcats in the fifth, sparked with Wodtke's three-run homer to left. An RBI double to center by Dalrymple later scored
Michael Smith, and Rolette delivered an RBI double to right center to push in Dalrymple, which extended K-State's lead to 10-0.
Omaha finally got on the board with one run on a hit and an error in the seventh. With one out, junior
Sam Palensky reached on a Wildcat throwing miscue, and with two outs, Herold sent an RBI double to right center to drive in Palensky for the Mavericks' first run of the night at 10-1.
KSU then added another run in the bottom half of the inning, courtesy of a bases-loaded walk by Moore that allowed Sam Chadick to score for an 11-1 advantage.
In the eighth, UNO capitalized on another K-State error and a hit to post a pair of runs. Senior

Cole Patterson both worked one-out walks and later scored when sophomore
Isaac Holt reached on a fielding error, bringing it to 11-3. In the ninth, Omaha managed to put two runners on when redshirt freshman
Nick Lawson tallied a single to right in his first career at-bat and senior
Cole Gruber walked, but K-State finished it off with a groundout for an 11-3 final.
