Baseball came up short against Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. — In the final meeting between crosstown nonconference rivals this season, Omaha's late surge came up short in a 15-10 loss to Creighton at Tal Anderson Field.

The game included 25 runs, 30 hits, six home runs and 12 extra-base hits as the Bluejays swept the three-game season series.
Omaha (13-19, 8-6 Summit) resumes pursuit of the Summit League championship Friday at 6 p.m. CT against St. Thomas. The Mavericks are currently in second place in the conference.

The BIG EAST-leading Bluejays built a big lead in the early innings thanks to the long ball before Omaha mounted a comeback. Jackson Trout's two-run homer in the third inning was his third of the season. Trout finished the night 2 for 5 with three RBIs. Chase Diggins keyed rallies in the final three innings, driving in a pair of runs during a four-run eighth. Diggins went 3 for 5 with three runs scored and three RBIs.

Bluejays Nick Venteicher and Teddy Deters each homered twice off Maverick pitching, and Creighton (22-16, 7-2 Big East) added a solo blast from Ben North.
