Mavericks Visit Fort Wayne on Thursday

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's basketball hits the road this week for two Summit League matchups. On Thursday, the Mavericks visit Fort Wayne at 6 p.m. (CT).  IPFW is the final Summit League team the Mavs have yet to face this season.

  • Omaha is 10-9 overall and 3-4 in the Summit League after dropping a heartbreaker last Thursday night as Oral Roberts got a jumper from the free throw line with two seconds left to play to pull off a 67-65 victory inside Baxter Arena. 
  • Junior forward Mikaela Shaw leads the league in scoring at 18.7 points per game and is fourth in rebounding at 8.1 rebounds per game.
  • Remy Davenport added 11.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
  • Caroline Hogue is averaging 8.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.6 blocked shots per game, which is 28th in the nation and leads the Summit.

Omaha-IPFW Series History

This will be the seventh all-time meeting between Omaha and Fort Wayne.  The Mavericks trail the all-time series, 2-4.  UNO won the first game in the series on Jan. 5, 2013 in Omaha, 60-50, and the last game in the series Feb. 26, 2015, 70-61.  Between those dates, the Mastodons had won four straight, including three in Fort Wayne.
