OMAHA, Neb. – After 23 straight games on the road, Omaha softball will open the home portion of its 2015 schedule with a non-conference tilt against Northern Colorado on Tuesday, March 17. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. at Westside Field at Westbrook, and links to live stats will be available on OMavs.com.
Leading Off for Omaha
- Kat Barrow (4-3) threw her first career one-hitter against Saint Louis on March 14. Barrow walked one and struck out seven.
- Omaha features three batters who are hitting over .300 for the season and as a team the Mavs are batting .240.
- Lia Mancuso leads the team with a .306 average five stolen bases.
- Lead-off hitter Allie Mathewson is hitting .303 and leads the team with nine stolen bases on 10 attempts. Mathewson is tied for the team lead with five homeruns.
- Kelly Pattison is batting .300 with three homeruns and 13 RBIs.
- Tonya Peterson leads the team with 17 RBIs.
- Catcher Campbell Ditto is tied for the team lead with five homeruns. Ditto also has 13 RBIs.
- In the circle, Barrow and Jaylee Hinrichs each own a 4-4 record.
- Barrow owns a 2.74 ERA with 42 strikeouts and leads the team with 13 appearances and five complete games.
The Series
Going into Tuesday's double header, Omaha and Northern Colorado have met 17 times. The Mavericks own a 13-4 series lead over the Bears. The last meeting between the two programs came in 2004 at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Fla. Omaha won the meeting, 8-2.
A Look at the Bears
Northern Colorado enters the double header with a 5-11-1 overall record. The Bears have dropped six straight, including a 0-5 showing at the Jayhawk Invitational over the weekend. Last season, UNC finished with a 20-33 overall record and were 11-7 in the Big Sky.
The Bears feature three batters hitting over .300, including Rachel Johnson who leads the team with a .400 batting average through 13 games. Melissa Marcovecchio is hitting at a .373 clip, while Mikayla Duffy is hitting .313.
In the circle, Jayme Reddacliff owns a 4-6 record with a 3.83 ERA and 26 strikeouts. Kelli Kleis is 1-4 on the year with a 6.45 ERA in 12 appearances.
Shana Easley is in her fourth season at the helm of the UNC softball program. Easley has a career mark of 41-75-2.

Omaha opens Summit League with a three-game set against Fort Wayne on March 21-22. The Mavericks will play a double header against Fort Wayne starting at noon on Saturday, March 21 and a single game against the Mastodons on Sunday starting at 11:00 a.m.
