OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha women's basketball welcomes Oral Roberts to Sapp Fieldhouse for the first time as Summit League members on Wednesday, February 4 at 7:00 p.m.
The Teams
Omaha (6-15, 1-8 Summit League) lost a pair of Summit League games last week. UNO lost 70-59 at Fort Wayne on Thursday, Jan. 29. On Saturday, the Mavs dropped a 68-49 decision at IUPUI.
Oral Roberts (10-12, 4-5 Summit League) dropped a pair of Summit League games last week in South Dakota. On Thursday, ORU lost at South Dakota State, 71-46. South Dakota defeated Oral Roberts 93-70 in Vermillion on Saturday.
Scouting the Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles wrap up a three game Summit League road swing in Omaha on Wednesday evening. Oral Roberts is 10-12 overall and 4-5 in league play. ORU is 1-11 away from the Mabee Center this season.
Against South Dakota, Vicky McIntyre scored a season-high 32 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, while posting her 16th double-double of the season. Jordan Doyle was the only other Golden Eagle to finish in double figures with 15 points.
The ORU offense and defense is led by Vicky McIntyre. McIntyre is averaging a double-double this season, while leading the Golden Eagles in scoring (13.9 points per game) and rebounding (15.3). She leads the nation in rebounding and blocked shots per game (4.9 bpg). Dorottya Balla and Atoe' Jackson are next in scoring for the Golden Eagles.
The Golden Eagles average 63.5 points a game, while giving up 67 points per game and 42.4 rebounds per contest.
Oral Roberts is led by third year head coach, Misti Cussen. Cussen has compiled a career record of 37-45 at ORU. She spent 16 seasons as an assistant with the Golden Eagles prior to being named head coach on April 27, 2012.

- On Saturday against IUPUI, Mikaela Shaw led the Mavericks in scoring with a game high 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. Shaw grabbed four rebounds, dished out three assists and had one steal.
- Remy Davenport added 11 points, all in the second half, on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor. Davenport grabbed two rebounds to go along with a team-high three steals.
- Sami Pawlak had eight points and four rebounds. Vanessa Barajas, in her first collegiate start, blocked three shots.
- Shaw had a career best 26 points on 11-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-8 from the free throw line against Fort Wayne on Jan. 29. She also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds, including three offensive boards. Shaw also had an assist, a blocked shot, and four steals.
- Brianna Bogard finished with nine points and two assists. Taijhe Kelly scored eight points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor. Kelly also grabbed four rebounds, blocked three shots, and had four steals.
- Against Oral Roberts last Saturday, Brianna Bogard scored a team-high 14 points. Bogard shot .500 from the field.
- Lanese Bough was second on the team in points scored with 10 and in rebounds with seven.
- Shaw had a team high 19 points against NDSU Thursday night and 10 rebounds, recording her fifth double-double on the season. She was 7-of-12 from the floor.
- Kelly blocked seven shots against NDSU which ties her season high. Kelly also grabbed eight rebounds against NDSU, while Sami Pawlak added eight points and four boards.
- Omaha shot 41.8 percent from the floor (23-of-55) against NDSU and 29.4 percent (5-of-17) from 3-point range.
- Shaw leads the Mavericks in scoring and rebounding this season. She averages 12.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
- Bogard is second on the team in scoring. She is averaging 10.7 points per game.
- Bough leads the team in assists (78) and steals (41). She is also second on the team in rebounds (114).
- Shaw has scored in double-digits 12 times this season, which is the most on the team. She has had five double-doubles this season as well.
- Kelly leads the team with 61 blocked shots. She has blocked four or more shots in a game eight times this season.
- Omaha is 1-4 against teams appearing in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25. The Mavs lost to Northern Colorado (RV), North Dakota (RV), South Dakota (RV), and South Dakota State (#14); but defeated #14 Bakersfield, 80-68.
- This season, Omaha averages 60.2 points, 36.8 rebounds, and 13.1 assists per game.
The Series
Wednesday's game marks the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs. Oral Roberts lead the all-time series 2-1. The Golden Eagles defeated the Mavericks 74-53 in Tulsa, Okla. on January 24.
