OMAHA,Neb. -- The Omaha women's tennis team completed its homestand Saturday morning, falling 7-0 to Missouri State at Miracle Hill Golf & Tennis Center. The Mavericks are now 3-8 (1-2 Summit League), while the Bears move to 3-6 (0-0 MVC).
MSU began the day by snagging the doubles point by winning two out of the three matches. At No. 2, sophomore Kenzie Hill and junior Molly Matricardi earned UNO's only win, defeating Ekaterina Donetskova and Anelisse Torico Moreno, 6-2.
In the singles portion of the match, the Bears continued their success. Missouri tallied all six singles points up for grabs, though the Nos. 5 and 6 matches did not finish. Senior Jacqueline Baude played her first singles match of the season at the No. 1 spot, falling Ema Turudija, 6-4, 6-1.
The Omaha returns to action on Saturday, March 14, traveling to Western Illinois for a Summit League contest in Macomb, Ill.
