OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha women's tennis team played its third Summit League match of the season on Thursday, dropping a 7-0 decision to Denver at Miracle Hill Golf & Tennis Center. UNO is now 3-6 (1-2 Summit League) on the year, while the Pioneers move to 7-3 (1-0 Summit League).
 
 
The Pioneers got off to a hot start, winning the doubles point with all three matches. At No. 1, the team of freshman Michelle Lo and senior Jacqueline Baude was defeated 8-4 by Julia O'Laughlin and Maureen Slattery. Sophomore Kenzie Hill and junior Molly Matricardi battled at the No. 2 spot but were defeated 8-6 by Denver's duo of Morgan Barnhill and Michelle Garpenlov. Evy Van Genecten and Sonja Radosevic teamed up at No. 3 to defeat UNO's duo of sophomores Allison Johnson and Rebecca Stafford, 8-1.

Denver then won all six singles matches. Matricardi was slotted in the top spot for the Mavericks in singles play but lost her match 6-1, 6-1 to Slattery. Denver continued its success as Baude and Stafford were defeated at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots. DU was victorious in the next three positions, taking a 7-0 victory over the Mavericks.

Omaha is back in action on Friday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. against Bradley at Miracle Hill Golf & Tennis Center.
