The Teams
Omaha (5-9, 0-2 Summit League) went 0-2 on the opening weekend of Summit League play. The Mavs dropped a 64-48 decision to South Dakota on Friday, Jan. 2 at the Sapp Fieldhouse. UNO lost at Western Illinois, 71-56, on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Denver (4-12, 1-1 Summit League) had a 1-1 weekend in conference play. The Pioneers lost at South Dakota State, 85-44, on Friday, Jan. 2. The responded with a 66-57 win over Oral Roberts on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Scouting the Pioneers
Denver carries a record of 4-12 (1-1 Summit League) into Thursday's game after defeating Oral Roberts 66-57 on Sunday afternoon. The Pioneers made 10 3-pointers against the Golden Eagles. DU had four players in double-digit points. Jordan Johnston and Morgan Van Riper-Rose each had a game high 13-points. Paige Bradley and Tamara Lee each added 12 points.
For the season, Bradley leads Denver in scoring and assists. She averages 11.5 points and 3.8 assists per game. Van Riper-Rose is second on the team in scoring averaging 10.7 points per game. Alecia Espinoza leads the team in rebounding averaging 5.9 rebounds per game.
DU is led by third-year head coach Kerry Cremeans, who has a career mark of 27-52.

- Remy Davenport led the Mavericks with 15 points off the bench against Western Illinois on Sunday, Jan. 4. Davenport was 5-for-13 from the field, including three 3-pointers.
- Against Western Illinois, senior guard Lanese Bough had a career high 12 rebounds, while senior center Taijhe Kelly had nine rebounds and six blocked shots.
- Sophomore Mikaela Shaw and freshman Remy Davenport each scored a game high 15 points in Friday night's game against South Dakota.
- Junior Brianna Bogard had a game-high 25 points against Utah Valley on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014. Bogard was 8-for-18 from the floor, including four second half 3-pointers.
- Shaw leads the Mavericks in scoring and rebounds this season. She averages 12.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game this season.
- Bogard is second on the team in scoring. She is averaging 11.9 points per game.
- Senior guard Lanese Bough leads the team in assists (62) and steals (32). Bough is also second on the team in rebounds (81).
- Shaw has scored in double-digits nine times this season, which is the most on the team. She has had four double-doubles this season. Shaw has scored 10 or more points in three straight games.
- Senior center Taijhe Kelly leads the team with 37 blocked shots. Kelly has blocked four or more shots in a game five times this season.
- Omaha is 1-3 against teams appearing in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25. The Mavs lost to Northern Colorado (RV), North Dakota (RV), and South Dakota (RV), but defeated #14 Bakersfield, 80-68.
- This season, Omaha averages 38.7 rebounds and 13.1 assists per game.
- UNO leads the Summit League in field goal defense and 3-point field goal percentage defense. The Mavs are also second in scoring defense.
The Series
Thursday marks the sixth all-time meeting between Denver and Omaha. The Mavericks lead the series 3-2, and the two teams last faced each other on Feb. 22, 2014, when Omaha won 65-41 in Omaha, Neb.
