Omaha, Neb. - The Omaha men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to IUPUI at the Koch Family Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.
The loss drops the Mavs to 6-14 overall and 1-4 in the Summit League while the visiting Jaguars improve to 5-16 and 2-1 in the Summit League.
IUPUI won all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point before sweeping the six singles matches. Adam Dockery and Eric McKnight fell to Patrick O'Neill and Alex Toliver, 8-5 at No. 1 while Jacob Bradley and Thomas Gans defeated Tyler Mercier and Nathan Greteman, 8-7 (8-6) at No. 2. The No. 3 doubles match saw Colin Buckley and James McManus fall to Jason Jaruvang and Akshay Verma, 8-3.
In singles, competition, Mercier proved to be the toughest match for the Jaguars as he was defeated by Jaruvang at No. 1, 6-1, 7-5.
Omaha will now have two weeks off before playing in the National Invitational Tennis Tournament April 25-27 in Omaha. Opponents and match times will be announced at a later date.
