OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Men's Tennis will close out the regular-season with a trip to Illinois State before hosting No. 71 Denver for Senior Day.
The Mavericks (12-9, 2-1 Summit League) are coming off a week at home where they defeated Drake 4-3. Currently, they are second in the conference standings.
Graduate Liam Spiers (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) was named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week for the third time this season, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Illinois State (9-12, 1-2) leads the series 6-3. Omaha won, 5-2, when the two teams met at home last season.
Omaha has never beaten Denver (14-5, 3-0) in any of their 15 meetings. The Pioneers sit No. 71 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
Play will kick off against the Redbirds at 12:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 15. Currently, the Mavs are set to play the Pioneers at 1 p.m. CT at Koch Tennis Center on Sunday, April 19. If the match is moved inside due to weather, it will start at 3:30 p.m. CT at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
