FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Omaha softball team closed out the weather-shortened Colorado State Classic with a 4-0 win against the host Rams on Sunday at Ram Field. 

The Mavs are now 14-8 overall after going 2-1 on the weekend. UNO will travel to Champaign, Ill. next weekend to participate in the Fighting Illini Classic. 

Omaha got on the board early with Sydney Hames driving in Campbell Ditto on an RBI groundout in the first inning after Ditto doubled to left center before advancing to third on a wild pitch. Mara Eeman then added an insurance run in the fourth with a solo home run to left center, giving the Mavs a 2-0 lead. Omaha plated another run in the fifth after a single by Allie Mathewson was mishandled by the right fielder, allowing her to circle the bases for Omaha's third run of the game. Mathewson again reached base on an error, this time by the third baseman before later scoring on a passed ball. 

Dana Elsasser (11-3) pitched a complete game shutout, her 13th complete game this season. The senior from Hershey, Neb. allowed four hits, three walks and struck out four while not allowing an extra base hit.  

The Rams (10-5) were held in check all game offensively, as no CSU batter was able to record more than one hit. CSU threatened in the fifth after Chelsea Biglow singled and pinch runner Taylor Hutton advanced to second on a fielder's choice. Haley Hutton then walked while Taylor Hutton stole third to put runners on the corners with two outs before Shae Rodriguez grounded out to Elsasser to end the threat.
