HOMEWOOD, Ill. – The Omaha women's tennis team played its final road match of the season on Sunday, defeating Chicago State, 6-1, at the HF Racquet Club.

UNO won two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Molly Matricardi and Tiffany Hottman dropped Marnie Perez-Ochoa and Ruta Grinvalde, 8-4, at No. 2, followed by Rachel Pierson and Jacqueline Baude defeating Sabrine Navarro and Mia Townsell, 8-2, at No. 3.

Omaha continued its winning ways in singles play, starting with Tran over Perez-Ochoa in the top spot, 6-1, 6-2. Matriciard defeated Carynne Lloyd, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2, followed by Tiffany Hottman over Grinvalde in the No. 4 slot, 7-6 (7-1), 6-3. Pierson topped Navarro by a score of 6-4, 3-6, 10-5 at No. 5, and Lindsay Weideman capped the day at No. 6, downing Townsell with a tally of 6-1, 6-1.

The Mavericks improved to 6-10 on the season, while the Cougars dropped to 5-15.

Omaha returns to action on Wednesday, April 10, hosting Kansas City for a league match at 10 a.m. at Koch Tennis Center.
