OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's team hosted another conference showdown on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-3 to South Dakota at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center. The Mavericks are now 7-13 (2-4 Summit League), while the Coyotes improved to 16-10 (4-3 Summit League).

USD won the doubles point, taking two of three matches. Omaha's only doubles win came from Jacqueline Baude and Rachel Pierson, who defeated Veronika Makashov and Nina Barudzic, 8-3, at No. 3.

In singles, Alex Tran won her match in the top spot over Milica Pavlovic by a score of 6-2, 4-6, 5-2. Molly Matricardi was also victorious at No. 2, defeating Michelle Elkin, 7-6, 2-0, and in the No. 4 slot, Tiffany Hottman downed Nina Barudzic, 6-7, 6-2, 6-0. South Dakota, however, won singles matches at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6, taking the match by a score of 4-3.

Omaha closes the 2013 season on Monday, April 15, hosting Kansas City at 1 p.m. at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center.
