OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha women's tennis team returned home for a match with crosstown rival Creighton on Thursday, falling 6-1 at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center. The Mavericks are now 4-9 on the season, while the Jays improve to 7-7.
Creighton swept the three doubles matches to take the first point of the day. The Jays then took five of the six singles matches to claim the match at 6-1.
Jacqueline Baude tallied a win for Omaha at the No. 4 singles position, defeating Sam Anderson by a score of 7-5, 6-4.
UNO returns to action on Friday, April 5, traveling for a non-conference match at Bradley. The contest is set for 10 a.m. in Peoria, Ill.
