OMAHA, Neb. – UNO infielder Caleb Palensky has been selected to play in the Valley Baseball League All-Star Game, it was announced this week. Palensky, an upcoming junior who is playing summer ball for the Waynesboro Generals, will play for the South Division squad.

The VBL All-Star Game is set for Sunday, July 8, with first pitch at 6:30 p.m. (CT) at Bing Cosby Stadium in Front Royal, Va.

Palensky ranks fourth in the league with a .411 batting average this season, along with 16 runs scored, 17 RBI, seven doubles and a pair of triples. The Papillion, Neb., native has started all 23 games and was also named VBL South Division Player of the Week on June 25 after batting .583 with 14 hits the week prior. Palensky was also named player of the week for June 17 after hitting .400 over seven days.
