VERMILLION, S.D. -- The UNO women's tennis team fell short by a score of 6-1 to future Summit League opponent South Dakota on Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman
Alex Tran had the sole singles win for the Mavs at No. 1, defeating USD's Michelle Elkin in a tough three-set match, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. The duo of senior

Lindsay Weideman ousted Elkin and Nina Barudzic at No. 2 doubles with a score of 8-6.
Like Tran, freshman
Jacqueline Baude also went three sets at the No. 4 singles spot before falling to Barudzic with a score of 0-6, 7-5, 6-2.
At No. 1 doubles, Tran and fellow freshman
Rachel Pierson took the Coyotes to the wire before dropping the match 9-7.
