Facing a one-run deficit in the top of the ninth, Hohl sent a single past the shortstop to put one on for the Mavericks. With two outs and Hohl still at first, Palensky delivered a two-out RBI double to the gap in right center, knotting the score at 2-2.
In the bottom of the ninth, ISU's Jeff Miera led off with a double to right center to put the winning run in scoring position.
