ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The UNO women's tennis team defeated Missouri-St. Louis 6-3 on Wednesday night, stretching the Mavericks' win streak to four consecutive matches. UNO is now 3-0 on the week after playing its third match in three days.
Nebraska Omaha earned the doubles point by securing two of three doubles matches, highlighted by senior
Kelsie Olson and freshman
Jacqueline Baude's swift 8-0 win at the No. 2 position.
Singles action was highlighted by three Mavericks winning in straight sets – junior
Lindsay Weideman at No. 3 (6-3, 6-4), freshman
Rachel Pierson at No. 5 (6-2, 6-1) and senior
Heather Hottman at No. 6 (6-3, 6-3). Baude also pulled out a victory in the No. 4 spot, topping Leanne Cantalupo, 6-7, 7-6, 10-4.
UNO returns to action on Thursday, April 19 at SIU-Edwardsville. The match is the Mavericks' season finale and slated for a 3 p.m. start in Edwardsville, Ill.
