KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Omaha women's basketball team opened Summit League play Friday night, picking up its first conference win, 61-44 over Kansas City at Swinney Recreation Center. With the victory, the Mavericks improved to 9-2 (1-0 Summit League), while the Kangaroos dropped to 4-10 (0-1 Summit League).
Junior guard
Ericka House led all scorers with 21 points off a season-best seven 3-pointers, which ties for the second-highest single-game threes total in UNO history. The last Maverick to hit seven treys was Karen Thies against Minnesota State in 2007, and House's performance marked the most since
Amanda Woodring made eight versus College of St. Mary in 2011.
Two Mavericks posted double-doubles for the night, as senior guard
Carolyn Blair-Mobley finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and senior guard
Paige Frauendorfer totaled 11 points and 13 boards. Blair-Mobley tacked on three treys of her own.

Jamie Nash chipped in seven points, five rebounds, six assists and five steals.
As a team, Omaha shot 35 percent (23-for-66) from the floor and 41 percent (11-of-27) from long range. The Mavs' 11 3-pointers as a team marked a season high, topping their previous mark of nine on two occasions this year. UMKC finished at a 30 percent (15-of-50) clip from the field and 22 percent (4-of-18) from beyond the arc.
The 'Roos were paced by Taylor Leathers, who had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Eilise O'Connor recorded a team-leading 13 points, and Kara Lee added 11 points.
