OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha volleyball team closed its weekend slate Saturday, falling 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 19-25, 20-25) to Oakland at Sapp Fieldhouse. With the loss, the Mavericks are now 6-13 (1-6 Summit League) on the season, while OU improves to 10-8 (3-4 Summit League).
Senior
Natalie Ebke finished with 10 kills and 11 digs, posting her seventh double-double of the season. Freshman
Megan Schmale added seven kills and eight blocks, while freshman
Kelley Wollak had seven kills, 12 digs and a trio of stops. Freshman
Valerie Hecht also had a strong performance, totaling six kills with a match-leading nine blocks.

The Maverick blocking corps highlighted the match, posting a season-best 17 total team blocks to OU's eight. The performance marked UNO's highest block total since notching 20 at Nebraska-Kearney on Sept. 9, 2009.
Oakland was paced by Meghan Bray, who had 16 kills and 15 digs, and Taylor Humm, who had 10 kills and 21 digs. The Golden Grizzlies were led at the net by Amanda Baker's six blocks.
Omaha returns to action next weekend, traveling to South Dakota State on Friday, Oct. 12 and North Dakota State on Saturday, Oct. 13. Links to live stats and live video will be available on OMavs.com.
