Volleyball to face Saint Louis and Iowa State

AMES, Iowa - Omaha volleyball is heading back out on the road to continue non-conference play at the Cyclone Invitational hosted by Iowa State on Saturday and Sunday.

The action begins Saturday, Sept. 13 when the Mavericks (2-3) take on Saint Louis at 4 p.m. CT. Omaha has only taken on the Billikens twice in their history. SLU leads 2-0 with a 3-0 win in their last meeting on Sept. 17, 2016.

Omaha has a much more complicated history with the Cyclones. The two teams first faced off in 1986 when Omaha defeated Iowa State 3-1. Most recently, the teams met in 2023 where the Cyclones won 3-1 in Omaha.

The Mavericks are coming off a tough weekend that saw three matches in three days. After three losses in a row, Omaha still leads the Summit League in hitting percentage (.286) and points with a total of 282 and 17.63 per set.

Kali Jurgensmeier retains her spot atop the conference ranking in hitting percentage at .397. Faith Venable leads the league in service aces per set with .75 and Celia Spilker leads in blocks with 17.

Both matches will air live on ESPN+.
