Mavericks Compete on Second Day at NU

Day 2 Results

LINCOLN, Neb. - UNO's Sami Spenner turned in a personal best in the triple jump on the second day of competition at the Holiday Inn Invitational hosted by Nebraska on Saturday.

Spenner posted a mark of 38-9 on her second jump of the competition to finish in fourth place behind two Nebraska jumpers and an unattached athlete.  Her previous best in the event came last year when she posted a leap of 38-4 3/4.

The Mavericks also shone in the distance medley relay, an event 4,000 meters with legs of 1,200, 400, 800, and 1,600.  Amanda Vorthmann, Terri Armstrong, Ashley Kildow and Kristin Rogers finished fourth with a time of 13:03.19.  They trailed only two teams from Nebraska and one from Southern Illinois Edwardsville.

The Mavericks are back in Lincoln next week at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational on Friday, Jan. 20.
