DES MOINES, Iowa – Omaha Track and Field wrapped up its second meet of the outdoor season with a pair of top-10 results at the Jim Duncan Invitational.
Sophomore Lilly Smith (Ankeny, Iowa) recorded the 10th fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles with a result of 1:04.57. This was Smith's first time competing in the event at the collegiate level.
In her second time running the 3000-meter steeplechase, freshman Hope Riedel (Lincoln, Neb.) landed fourth all-time in program history with a time of 11:15.74. She shaved approximately 20 seconds off her previous personal best.
The Mavericks will split up for the next meet with part of the team competing at the Pacific Coast Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., part of the team at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. and part of the team at the Big Red Classic in Lincoln, Neb. All three meets take place on April 17 and 18.
